Today, the following was sent to Laura Baker at the Guinness Book of World Records:Subject: This is in regards to Mike Brookes alleged speed skydiving record. Just wanted to let you know that the following listing in the Guinness World Records Book is incorrect: www.guinnessworldrecords.com/gwr5/content_pages/record.asp?recordid=58075In the September 19, 1999 competition over Gap, France, Mike Brooke did not use "two electronic altimeters to measure the average speed", as it is required by the Speed Skydiving rules, and as it is stated on the Guinness Book of World Records website. - Mike Brooke's fastest jump in an official competition is 483,22 km/h over Empuriabrava, Spain, in November, 2000.
- In 2001, Brooke's best jump was 472,11 km/h.
- In 2002, Brooke's best jump was 480,14 km/h.
In 2002, Brooke claimed 494,37 km/h reportedly done at a competition in France, but the association never received the database for verification and approval. The world record in Speed Skydiving is held by Marco Wiederkehr of Liechtenstein with 502,11 km/h. This is the only 500+ competition jump in history, and it was measured according to the rules stated by the ISSA, and on the Guinness Book of World Records website. Wiederkehr's record jump was done over Hibaldstow, England, on June 26, 2004. Sincerely, Ken Hansen International Speed Skydiving Association

To let the Guinness Book of World Records now, in as many ways as possible, I have, today, gone through the first part of the record claim procedure on the Guinness website on behalf of Marco Wiederkehr's record.
I also informed them that Mike Brooke did not use "two electronic altimeters to measure the average speed" on the jump in 99 that he has claimed as a record, as it is required by the Speed Skydiving rules, and as it is stated on the Guinness Book of World Records website.
I also informed them that according to the rules, Wiederkehr did not use any extra weights, like another possible record claimer did earlier this year.

GuinnessWorldRecords deleted the hole SpeedSkydiving Report! Maybe we are banned or they want to put the ISSA-Report on the list! Thanks to Ken
