Hi, I just stumbled upon speedskydiving and I think that someday I will start with it. I am working to get a skydiving licence this year so it will take some time. I just have a little question: how do you lower the speed just before opening the canopy? I mean, if you to that at 440 km/h I suppose this will hurt Greetz, Andre

if you open your canopy at 440 kmh you are dead ... so move from the headdown positon to the belly or box position 1,700 meters above the ground. form a big X with your body and hold this position till 1,000 meters above the ground. after that procedure your speed is apx 180 kmh and you are able to open your canopy on a save altitude. follow this link and check the pdf file www.speedskydiving.eu/?p=p_44&sName=speed-skydiving-at-the-ipc-meeting-in-paris-2008

There is nothing to explain more. I hope you find everything under the link from Arnold. Otherwise please contact us again.
If you decide to join a competition, there will be a bunch of speeders to support/help you!
Best luck for your licence and look forward to meet you in a competition.
Best wishes Marco W.
